Levi’s class did a mock trial recently, and he got his first-choice pick of the role of prosecuting attorney. Their case was taken from Edgar Allan Poe’s story, The Tell-Tale Heart. He spent a long time working on the witnesses testimony rebuttals and questioning. He delivered the opening statement. UNFORTUNATELY, neither Levi or I know how to tie a tie. FORTUNATELY! We live in the future, where Krista can text message me instructions on tie-tying (she was at work already). I drove him to school that morning in his suit, while he studied his note cards relentlessly, barely able to make conversation with me. Yes, we got a mock trial outfit AND a halloween costume out of one suit. And guess what, he loves wearing it and gets lots of compliments when he does. Today he even wore it to the playground.
Anyway, the point of this entry is that his prosecuting team won the case! They defeated the “not guilty by reason of insanity” defense! He was so proud. Here’s a picture of his proud, smug face after he came home from school.
